Manager Nick Davis says there is no reason why Sittingbourne cannot continue their fairy-tale season in the new year.
The Boxing Day draw at Faversham took ninth-placed Brickies to 40 points in Ryman League Division 1 South.
Davis said: “We have 40 points now but can we get to 75 or 80 by the end of the season? Why not? Top eight would a remarkable achievement.
“We lost 3-0 at Dorking, who were the best side we’ve faced, and then we just didn’t turn up against Chipstead.
“On the whole, 85% of this season has been brilliant. The lads have been pulling up trees for me.”
With home games against Hastings on Saturday (1pm) and Greenwich on Monday (3pm), Davis added: “We’re in touching distance of the play-offs.
“We have two home games against sides who will be in among that top five. But at home we fancy we can beat anyone, and we beat Greenwich away and got a point at Hastings. Four points from these next two and we’re right back in it again.”
Davis claimed Monday’s 1-1 draw at Faversham was a good point – though it might have been more.
He said: “We had two debutants and changed formation for the first time. It was just a case of putting a side together. I was disappointed not to have got all three points but before the game I would have taken one – it’s one of the hardest places to go.”
Davis is hoping to have Josh Wisson and Conrad Lee available for Hastings.
