Sittingbourne have named Chris Lynch as their new first-team boss.

Lynch replaces Aslan Odev, who stepped down as Brickies manager on Wednesday after nearly a year in charge.

Lynch is head of youth development at National League Dover, where he is also the under-18s boss, but this is his first role in senior football management.

He started at Dover as a youth-team player before moving to Watford only for a serious accident to put paid to his playing career.

A club statement said Lynch "impressed the committee with his knowledge and vision for the club".

With no league game this weekend, Lynch's first match will be a home friendly against Southern Counties East Hollands & Blair on Saturday.

Sittingbourne are 16th in Bostik South East, just three points above bottom side Herne Bay.
