Sittingbourne have signed another player with Premier League connections.

Boss Nick Davis has added former Bolton Wanderers striker Javlon Campbell to his squad, just a week after landing ex-Chelsea youngster Alistair Gordon.

Campbell was an under-21 player in Wanderers’ 2010-11 Premier League squad before dropping into non-league.

Still only 23, he joins Brickies from Redhill while former clubs include Kingstonian and Thamesmead.

Campbell could make his debut when Sittingbourne host East Grinstead at Woodstock Park on Saturday (3pm).

The arrival of Campbell gives manager Davis four strikers to pick from as Brickies look to close in on Ryman League Division 1 South safety.

Davis said: “Javlon’s pedigree is fantastic. I spoke to Keith McMahon, the old Thamesmead manager, about him and he said we should definitely sign him if he was available.

“I watched him playing for Redhill against Sittingbourne before I took over – he scored and was a real handful. He has pace and an eye for goal.

“He’s become a bit of a journeyman but he wants to get involved here for the last 10 games.

“It will give me a bit of a headache if he’s available on Saturday but you need four forwards if you’re going to do well."
