Sittingbourne could still be placed in Ryman League Division 1 North if Thurrock's appeal against a points deduction is successful
14:55, 19 June 2013
Sittingbourne still have no idea which division they will be playing in next season.
The club had hoped to find out at the Ryman League annual meeting on Sunday. But with Thurrock’s appeal against a three-point deduction still to be heard by the FA, clubs had to vote on two constitutions.
Bourne will be moved from Division 1 South to Division 1 North if Thurrock are successful.
Brickies secretary John Pitts attended the annual meeting. He said: “We’re still in the dark and it’s getting ridiculous now. The league said there’s going to be an appeal at a date yet to be set.
"There’s suggestions in The Non-League Paper that Thurrock are prepared to go to the European courts. They have a guy called Graham Bean working for them, who is a top sports lawyer.
“The uncertainty is causing us problems. There could be players willing to sign who don’t want to play in the North.”
