Manager Chris Lynch has called on the people of Sittingbourne to give his new-look team a chance.

There's an ideal opportunity on Saturday (3pm) when Bourne host Faversham in the Swale derby at Woodstock.

Both sides are in good form, climbing away from relegation danger in Bostik South East, and it promises to be an entertaining game.

Brickies boss Lynch said: "It's an exciting time and I want to get the message out there to all the fans to come and take a look at the new team.

"When you lose, people get a bit disenchanted and decide maybe they're not going to turn out on a Saturday.

"We have a great fan base here but it's a different team now.

"They're showing some real character, playing some very entertaining football, working hard, and it's a great day out.

"For me, it's just trying to get those fans who have maybe not turned up in the last year to let them know you're going to get entertained for your money now, so come down and have a look."

Sittingbourne made it four wins in five matches by thrashing Three Bridges 5-0 in a rearranged away game last night, moving them up to 13th place.

It's been quite a turnaround since Lynch succeeded Aslan Odev, with the new manager recruiting wisely and getting the best out of the players he inherited.

Lynch said: "If we beat Three Bridges and Faversham, which won't be easy, then we are looking very much at a top-10 finish, which would be fantastic considering they were down the bottom when I got here.

"There's everything to play, we've got a great squad, they're all gelling nicely now and I think a lot of teams in the league are sitting there going 'what has happened?'

"It's not been easy at all but hard work and commitment equals rewards, as I tell the lads.

"There was a collection of players we've kept, very good players, but the previous regime for whatever reason have just not got them to a place where they were set up to succeed.

"That could be down to a number of things. It could personalities, it could be formations, selections.

"Whatever the case may have been, under myself everyone has clear roles and responsibilities.

"They know exactly what's expected on and off the field and for that they get rewarded should they perform.

"They have to perform in all aspects, including attitude, so it's just about setting standards and rules and making sure everyone's on board."
