Sittingbourne defender George Crimmen has joined Ryman League rivals Ramsgate.
Crimmen, whose dad Barry left his first-team role coach last week, has signed a double-your-money contract at Southwood.
The transfer sees him reunited with Jim and Danny Ward, who signed him for Sittingbourne three years ago.
Brickies manager Nick Davis said: “Ramsgate have doubled George’s money and put him on contract, so fair play to him.
“He’d be the first to admit he didn’t have his best season for us.
“We met up on the Monday before he decided to leave and had a drink.
“I’ve played with him and we’ve been together a long time at Sittingbourne.
“I’ve always been honest with him when one or two clubs have come in for him in the past.
“Financially it was well worth him going, the fact he’s got a mortgage now, and maybe he needs a change of scenery.
“We need to free up money to bring new players in, so maybe it works best for both parties."
