Sittingbourne manager Nick Davis tells his players some home truths after side's 2-0 defeat to Bury Town in FA Trophy
00:00, 12 October 2016
Nick Davis kept his side locked inside the dressing room after Saturday’s FA Trophy defeat.
The Sittingbourne boss was fuming that his players followed an impressive first-half showing with a woeful second half, losing 2-0 to Bury Town.
Harsh words were said and Davis hopes he gets the response he’s looking for this weekend at Molesey.
He said: “I kept them in the changing room for an hour afterwards. It’s not something I would usually do, but I wasn’t pleased.
“A few things were said. There are a few things I haven’t been happy with recently. A few home truths were told, I got a few things off my chest and some of them didn’t like it.
“Some of the experienced lads, and I can vouch for it, will have been in some brutal changing rooms. Sometimes I think our changing room is too nice.”
Captain Jono Richardson will miss the Molesey game with injury and Jack Steventon will also miss the match through suspension following his late sending-off on Saturday.
Young keeper Ben Bridle-Card has moved to Kent rivals Faversham following the return of Sittingbourne’s first-choice keeper Simon Overland.
