Sittingbourne have a deal in place that prevents their former defender Ollie Gray playing against them.

Gray was released from his contract in order to rejoin Ramsgate on the condition he doesn’t feature when the sides meet on Saturday in their Ryman League, Division 1 South match at Woodstock Park.

Joint-boss Matt Wyatt made the agreement when he allowed Gray to leave at the end of last month.

He said: “We let Ollie out of his contract for personal reasons. He couldn’t commit to training all the time and we couldn’t guarantee him a place, so it was fair all round to let him go back.

“But as part of the agreement, he can’t play against us this weekend.

“I don’t expect there to be any issues. If the agreement is broken and Ollie ends up playing, it will have to be looked into.”

Another ex-Brickie, midfielder Nick Treadwell, is likely to line up against his former club.

Treadwell’s contract was cancelled by mutual consent after last season’s crowd favourite lost his place in the team.

Sittingbourne's home game with Redhill was postponed on Tuesday due to a waterlogged pitch.
