Defeat for Kent Kings in final fixture of National Trophy campaign at Central Park
08:21, 16 July 2013
Kent Kings ended their National Trophy campaign without a victory.
They lost 48-45 to Stoke Potters at Central Park on Monday night and finished the competition with one draw and seven defeats from eight fixtures.
The teams were level after two heats - wins for Steve Boxall and Adam Kirby cancelled out by Stoke dominating the minor placings.
Potters got their noses in front with a one-two for Lee Smart and Luke Priest in the third heat and didn't look back.
They opened up a 10-point lead after nine heats and while Kings closed the gap to three, they fell short again.
Captain Boxall (15), Ben Morley (10+2) and Kirby (10+1) were Kent's leading scorers.
