The picture was taken by Sittingbourne-based company Click:Create and is one the club will savour as they go from strength to strength.

Striders are blessed with juniors of all ages and abilities who love practising the triathlon disciplines.

The club use the Sittingbourne School for running, Bayford Meadows go-kart track for cycling and the private pool at Kent Science Park for swimming.

“To reach 70 members in 18 months, and we’ve since recruited another four or five, we’re over the moon with,” said junior section founder Steve Fisher.

“We wanted to get to 60 this year and we’re seeing out the year at 74/75, so we’ve exceeded our aims, which is fantastic.

“We haven’t moved away from our core objectives and we’re lucky to have access to fantastic facilities which we’re still building in terms of how we use them.

“We can expand and develop in different ways at each venue, so the scale of what we can do is only really limited by what we can get in terms of coaching and time at those places.

“We’re breaking down barriers of how people see triathlon and running clubs, which is that they’re going to cost a lot of money and everyone’s going to be very fit.

“We’re trying to smash away those stereotypical views and that’s what makes us appealing.

“Yes, we’ve got people who are very fit and very fast, but we’ve also got people who just need positive encouragement to go and have some fun and enjoy themselves.

“We’ve got a cross-country team this year but, equally, we have people who just want to enjoy a bit of activity without competing.”
