Striker Harry Taylor could be closing in on a move to Sweden.

Taylor, a summer signing from Millwall, is back with Sittingbourne after a three-month trial at Swedish top-flight club Ostersunds.

Brickies boss Chris Lynch understands a deal is on the table, leaving Taylor with a decision to make.

However, the Allsvenskan season is over which means he is free to resume Sittingbourne commitments.

He could even make his competitive debut at Chichester on Saturday.

Lynch said: "His international clearance has just come back so he's available for the rest of the season.

"It went really well for him in Sweden.

"I think they've actually offered him a contract so he needs to decide whether it's the right move for him.

"It's a chance to play full-time professional football so I would imagine he'll take it, which is great.

"He could do with another couple of sessions really but we may decide to use him this weekend.

"Having him back gives us additional firepower.

"He's been away but he's never really left us.

"He's never left the chat groups and he's still been a part of everything we do.

"It's all about having good relationships with players.

"This is what it's about. If you look after them and want them to do well and pride your success next to theirs, they will always be happy to come back and play for you.

"That's why Roman Campbell came back on loan at the start of the season.

"Ultimately, good players want to play football and be with people they trust."

Sitingbourne could have a couple more new faces in place by the weekend.

They've won their past two games but Lynch has seen a chance to improve his squad.

He said: "There's two or three players from the league above who've become available.

"If we can match their wages and this is the right environment for them and us, we can hopefully do something.

"The second you stop recruiting is the second you start going backwards and you can go backwards pretty fast.

"We need to keep everyone on their toes.

"They know they need to turn up and be ready and you normally find if any inconsistency or complacency creeps in, it's because people get too comfortable.

"I like to remind players you're only as good as your last couple of games."

Sittingbourne players responded to a half-time rollicking to beat Kent rivals Herne Bay 2-0 on Saturday.

Lynch said: "I've got to be honest, the first half was the poorest I've seen in quite some time.

"The lads got an absolute rocket, shall we say, because we've been playing some very good football lately but that first half looked like we'd gone back four or five months.

"However, second half, we got ourselves back to where we normally are, we didn't give them any time on the ball, we made it difficult for them and ended up winning comfortably."
