Ben Taylor loyal to Woodstock Sports but can't rule out Sittingbourne switch
09:13, 04 September 2013
Woodstock Sports boss Ben Taylor isn't ruling himself out of the vacant manager's job at Sittingbourne.
Taylor used to play for the Brickies and was linked with the job in the summer after his old Woodstock chairman Maurice Dunk switched clubs.
He was surprised to learn of Jim and Danny Ward's exit but was in two minds when asked if he would be interested in taking over.
Taylor said: "I still feel I have a lot to prove at Woodstock and I love Ron Welling, the chairman, to pieces.
"We made a little pact that all the time he's here, I'm here, and vice-versa.
"I'm a loyal person but who knows what the future holds? Never say never.
"Without going into it, there were some talks about the Sittingbourne job in the summer but I shut it down pretty quickly.
"I'd like to think I could manage in the Ryman League one day but I've got a job to do at Woodstock and Sittingbourne is none of my business."
The Wards quit Brickies after the Kent Senior Cup win at Chatham on Tuesday night.
