Sittingbourne Crusaders will have to wait a little longer to claim their first points of the season after losing to champions Scunthorpe.

Scunthorpe Saints took the win 60-32 at the Old Gun Site.

The Saints started strongly but a comeback looked on the cards following strong rides from skipper Dean Felton, Alex Cunningham, Nathan Irwin and Aaron Baseby.

Just when the gap looked to be down to six points, Cunningham fell on the last lap of heat 10, to end Crusaders’ hopes.

The win takes Scunthorpe to the top of the Conference League table. The two sides meet again for the return fixture on Friday.
