Cows stop traffic on A28 Ashford Road, High Halden, near Tenterden
11:00, 06 February 2015
Tenterden town councillor Callum Knowles was surprised to encounter a herd of cows on the loose as he drove home on the A28.
The roving bovines caused queues of traffic, blocking the road near the Homeleigh Timber depot on the Ashford Road, High Halden.
Cllr Knowles said: “There appeared to be about 30 cattle coming down the road towards me.
“I couldn’t believe it when I saw them on such a busy road.
“There was a big queue of traffic in front and behind me and even an ambulance trying to get by.
“It looked like someone was trying to herd them into a field.”
