Crews tackle haystack fire at Rye Road, Wittersham

A fire crew is still extinguishing a blaze that broke out overnight in a vast haystack.
At the fire's height three engines and a bulk water carrier were brought in to tackle the incident at Rye Road, Wittersham and were at the scene just before 1am this morning.
Residents were advised to keep doors and windows closed as the fire took hold in the 50m x 100m haystack
East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service was also involved in fighting the blaze.
A spokesman for Kent Fire and Rescue Service said: "Firefighters are now making steady progress in extinguishing the fire and one fire engine remains at the scene."
