Pictures show toilet paper scattered around the building, loo roll holders pulled off the wall and dumped in the loos, and rubbish covering the floor. Wet pieces of tissue were also thrown at the ceiling.

The town council has described it as “disgusting behaviour” and say the culprits should be ashamed of themselves.

It shared a post on Facebook, writing: “To the people who thought it a great idea to completely trash the ladies’ toilets at Tenterden Recreation Ground tonight, your faces will be all over our CCTV and this will be reported to Kent Police.

“You will be held accountable and pay for this criminal damage you have caused.
