A number of residents and businesses have reported problems with signals with both services in the area for almost 32 hours, while others claim to have been suffering intermittent signal for days.

One resident tweeted Vodafone: "We have had no signal in the TN30 area for more than 12 hours now. Any idea of how long we can expect it to be down for?"

Another responded: "12 hours? I've had none since Saturday!"

One Smallhythe Road resident said: "The signal down here is diabolical, I'm with 02, my wife is on Tesco mobile and it's bang on but I miss calls and messages."

Both Vodafone and O2's signal monitoring sites have warned that a mast is down in the area, with both warning that there is unlikely to be an update before the end of April.

A statement on the O2 website reads: "We've had to remove a mast near you.

"We've upgraded other masts nearby to help boost the network, but we're sorry if you're still having signal issues.

"We're working to get a new mast up and running as soon as we can. We'll update you by April 26 2023."

A message from Vodafone said: "We're carrying out maintenance in this area at the moment to help improve our mobile network.

"We're sorry if you're experiencing any issues with your service at this time, we know how frustrating this can be.

"Maintenance is due to be finished by 8pm April 25 2023 and we'll update this page as soon as it has been done."
