Tributes have been left for a popular Hythe Town FC player who died after his car hit a tree in Tenterden.
Messages have been pouring in in memory of 18-year-old Henry Fulcher, who was on the B2080 Appledore Road at around 6.25pm on Tuesday when he lost control of his white Vauxhall Corsa.
Police, ambulance and fire crews attended but the teenager, who lived in New Romney, died at the scene.
Chloe Ritson said: "I'm so sorry that you had to go so soon leaving those who love you behind.
"With the greatest simpathy to your loved ones in the knowledge you'll never leave their minds. Rest in peace. You'll be up there with some of the greatest angels."
Paula Boniface said:"RIP Henry. Taken far too soon. You are going to be missed by so many. Condolences to your family xx."
Mark Rippingale said: "RIP Henry, we are all devastated. To think you were only sitting at the dinner table with us a couple of days ago. You were such a lovely, polite lad, we're going to miss you."
Henry, nicknamed Twopack by his team mates, started playing for Hythe Town's under 18s team before progressing to the senior side.
He made his senior debut last season and scored his first goal in a 5-1 friendly win over a Maidstone United XI last week winning and converting a penalty.
A statement on the club's website reads: "All of us at Hythe Town FC are devastated at the news of the tragic death of Henry Fulcher in a road accident on Tuesday evening.
"Henry was one of the nicest people you could meet and had the potential to go all the way to the top and we at Hythe had high expectations of him in what would have been his first full season at senior level.
"Our thoughts go out to his family and friends losing someone so close to them at such a tender age."
A tweet from a representative of the under 18s team said: "It was a personal joy to work with Henry and watch him grow into a fine senior footballer for Hythe Town You will always be in my thoughts."
Investigating officer DC Mark Robinson said: "Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit attended the incident and are appealing for any witnesses to make contact with police if they saw the collision, or the Vauxhall Corsa and a silver-coloured vehicle prior to the collision."
Anyone who has not yet contacted police is asked to call police on 01622 798538, or e-mail sciu.td@kent.pnn.police.uk quoting incident 04-1160.
