Hunt for naked man seen near leisure centre
00:00, 07 August 2008
Two mothers and their children were horrified by the sight of a naked man as they walked by a leisure centre on Monday.
One of the mothers, who asked not to be named, was shocked to see the nude man peer out from some bushes close to an alleyway by Tenterden leisure centre as she walked with her 11-year-old daughter, a friend and her children at about 3.45pm.
She said: “I went to go home, thinking he had run off, but saw his head peer through again at the next little entrance on the next alleyway.”
According to police, the man was seen at around 2.20pm running naked at the back of the leisure centre.
But he got dressed and ran into nearby woods when staff went to investigate.
The man is described as white and aged in his late 20s or early 30s.
He was seen to carry some clothing, including a green T-shirt and dark trousers, and a plastic bag.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact police on 01233 611055.
