Two arrested after shop burgled in Tenterden High Street

Two men have been arrested 60 miles from the scene of a burglary.

Police were informed Bond Street To Your Street in Tenterden high street was burgled at 12.06am this morning, with officers later seeing a vehicle linked to the report entering a tunnel at the Dartford Crossing.

The vehicle failed to stop when requested to do so and was brought to a controlled stop near Junction 29 of the M25 in Essex.

A police spokesman said: "A 43-year-old man from north London and a 26-year-old man from west London have been arrested on suspicion of burglary and both remain in custody while enquiries continue.

"Anyone who witnessed the burglary, or who has CCTV or dashcam footage which may assist officers, is urged to call Kent Police on 01843 222289, quoting reference 46/111678/21.
