Appledore crash: Woman taken to hospital in London by air ambulance

An elderly woman was flown to hospital after being hit by a car as she walked along the road.
The incident happened yesterday afternoon in a country road in Appledore.
Police are now appealing for witnesses after the serious crash in Heath Road at 4.40pm.
The incident involved a red Citroen C3 car.
The woman, 72, was taken to hospital in London by the air ambulance and is still in hospital in a stable condition, police said.
Officers are now investigating the crash and are appealing for any witnesses who saw the incident or the woman or driver in the moments beforehand.
