Motorists are being warned to expect delays on a busy main route after a car crashed into a lamppost.

Police and emergency services have been called to the scene on the A28 Ashford Road at St Michael's, near the junction with Shoreham Lane.

KCC Highways reports that one of carriageways is blocked, and has warned motorists to approach the area with caution.

Police say they were called shortly after 5pm, and have confirmed that the ambulance services have also been called.

They say work is ongoing to recover the car, and damage to the lamppost has been reported.
