Cranbrook man accused of making ‘inappropriate comments to children’ in Tenterden

A suspect accused of making inappropriate comments to children has been charged with child sex offences.
Officers were scrambled to the Ashford Road area of Tenterden following reports of incidents reportedly occurring between November 3 and 6.
Joseph Kemp was arrested last Tuesday in connection with the alleged offences.
The 33-year-old has been charged with two counts of attempting to engage in sexual activity in the presence of a child and two counts of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.
Kemp, of Tenterden Road, Cranbrook, appeared before Folkestone Magistrates' Court on Thursday and was remanded in custody to appear before Canterbury Crown Court on December 11.
An investigation into the incidents is ongoing and officers are urging anyone who saw anything suspicious in that area on those days, or on Thursday, November 2, to contact them.
