Phone Shop inside Tesco at Tenterden to close next month

A phone shop inside a Tesco supermarket is shutting due to low customer demand.
The site at the store in Tenterden will close its doors for good next month.
This means the next nearest Tesco Mobile is at the Park Farm supermarket in Ashford, which is more than 10 miles away.
A spokesperson for the chain said the decision was made to axe the Tenterden branch because of a lack of customer demand.
“Following a comprehensive review, we have taken the difficult decision to close Tenterden Phone Shop due to low customer demand,” they said.
“We will continue serving the local community through our Ashford Park Farm Phone Shop, which remains open and ready to help.”
All impacted colleagues will be offered alternative roles within Tesco Mobile or Tesco.
The next nearest store at Park Farm, Ashford, is 11.7 miles away from Tenterden’s shop, which will close for good on Sunday, March 17.
Meanwhile, at the store, baffled shoppers told of how there was nowhere to leave their trolleys after every bay was removed from the car park.
Contractors finished resurfacing works at the supermarket earlier this month – much to the delight of residents who had long called for improvements.
But when the car park reopened, four damaged trolley bays had been removed and not replaced, leaving customers scratching their heads.
