Young players win top award

YOUNG footballers in Tenterden are celebrating after being given a top award by Kent Football Association.
Tenterden Tigers Junior Football Club have been given the Community Club Award for their good relationship with the town.
"It is the top award for the county," said club member Mark Tomkinson. "It was given to us in recognition of our hard work in keeping to the approved FA standards and community well-being. It is fantastic and should make it easier for us to get funding." The club is continuing its efforts to secure land to create their own complex of football pitches.
Members have also made an appeal for more people to join the under-14s and the under-12s teams. Anyone wishing to join the under-14s should contact Mr Tomkinson on 01580 764584, and Andy Croucher for the under-12s on 01580 766553.
The club is starting a girls' team. Contact Mark Digby on 01580 763020 for details.
