Broadstairs: RNLI and ambulance crews called to 'possible drowning' at harbour

Ambulance crews and the RNLI were called to a harbour after two people got into difficulty in the water.
Emergency services were sent to the Viking Bay area of Broadstairs at about 2.30pm to the report of a "possible drowning incident".
The pair, however, had been helped by RNLI lifeguards by the time crews arrived.
An ambulance spokesman said: "At 2.38pm we responded to a possible downing incident at Broadstairs Harbour with two ambulances and a car.
"Two people were found out of the water and fully responsive.
"Neither required further treatment."
A spokesman for the RNLI added: "The inshore lifeboat (ILB) launched at the request of the UK Coastguard to two people in the water off Viking Bay.
"By the time the ILB arrived on scene, the RNLI lifeguards had managed to get both the people ashore.
"One of the ILB crew went ashore to ensure all was OK and once the ambulance arrived, returned to station."
