Armed police officers descend on Cliftonville seafront after report of someone with a weapon

Armed police descended on the seafront after a report of a disturbance involving someone with a weapon.
Officers swooped on Cliff Terrace in Cliftonville at 3.15pm yesterday and a man was taken into custody.
A spokesman said: "Officers attended, including armed officers due to concerns a weapon may have been present, and a man was taken into custody in connection with the incident."
The incident is not connected with the appeal to find a man who escaped from police custody yesterday.
