Heavy traffic after serious crash on A299 Hengist Way, Ramsgate, near Cliffsend

A major road has been closed for several hours after a serious crash.
A driver was taken to a London hospital with severe injuries after two vehicles collided on the A299 Hengist Way in Ramsgate just before 7am.
Their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
A second person was taken to hospital, and arrested on suspicion of driving offences.
Officers remain at the scene, near the Cliffsend roundabout, and road closures are in place.
Traffic is very slow in the area, including Sandwich Road and the A256 Ramsgate Road.
