Man arrested on suspicion of assault after car gets stuck on Margate Main Sands

A man has been arrested on suspicion of assault after police were called to the scene of a car stuck on Margate Main Sands.

It took the efforts of a dumpster and a digger to pull the vehicle out of the sand before the tide came in.

A 25-year-old was arrested after allegedly causing a disturbance at the incident.

A police spokesman said officers were called at around 10am to "a disturbance on the beach" next to Royal Crescent, Margate.

A 25-year-old man from Bromley was arrested on suspicion of assault. He remains in police custody while the investigation continues.
