Fight breaks out on beach at Viking Bay, Broadstairs

A fight broke out on a Broadstairs beach as hundreds of people headed to the coast to make the most of the relaxed lockdown and warm bank holiday weather.
Footage posted on social media shows more than a dozen people getting involved in a brawl at Viking Bay.

It happened just after 4pm today as temperatures reached the mid-20s.
Witnesses reported seeing one person trying to break-up the disturbance as calls to continue observing social distancing were ignored.
During the two minute video, young men and women can be seen gathering in a group before punches are thrown.
Police are understood to have attended the scene and spoke to a number of people.
One person is believed to have received treatment from paramedics.
While no arrests have been made, a number of people were escorted from the area.
It happened on the same day some people spoke of their disappointment at the numbers of visitors heading to the coast and leaving litter at beauty spots.
