Eleven 'beach huts' on Margate seafront have gone on sale for nearly half a million pounds each.

The Beach House, as it is called, has been designed to mimic the Great British beach hut with pointy triangular roofs and is clad in larch timber.

However, the interior is not the usual wooden floor, walls and ceiling with a gas canister in the corner.

The master bedroom also features a balcony with fantastic sea views.

An open plan living, kitchen and dining room, set out over 860ft, leads out onto a private deck also with uninterrupted sea views.

The beach houses are being sold by estate agents Strutt and Parker who state on their website: "These homes playfully reinterpret the conventional British beach hut, creating a modern retreat and are the perfect seaside getaway."

The properties also come with floor-to-ceiling glazing, high specification kitchens and bathrooms, under-floor heating and a Sonos multi-zone digital music system.

The site reads: "Only moments from the vast array of cafes, restaurants, bars and the charming and eclectic old town.

"The thriving art scene, with the landmark Turner Contemporary , the redevelopment of Dreamland and the continued regeneration programme has put Margate back on the map as one of the UK's top coastal resorts and investment locations."
