They said: "After a lot of soul searching, it is with a heavy heart we have decided not to renew our tenancy.

"We would like to thank each and everyone of you that has supported us and all the fabulous staff who have worked with us over the last five years- we couldn’t have done it without you.

"We have had an amazing time, we have met some incredible people and made lots of lovely friends.

"The Bell Inn will be closed this week and will only open on Friday, January 5 for one final party to see the end of an era.

"All are welcome - we look forward to seeing you all.

"We wish you all the very best and look forward to having a drink with you all on your side of the bar.

"We wish any tenants good luck for the future when the brewery appointments them."

New tenants are now being looked for and the pub is advertised on ei publican partnerships.

It has a guide rent price of £33,000 per year, including family accommodation spread over two floors.

On the page, the regional manager said: “The Bell is popular within the village, playing host to numerous clubs and local groups, while attracting regular local custom from villager and visitors alike with a traditional pub menu and a wide selection of drinks.

“There is potential to build on this existing customer base as well as looking to increase passing and destination trade. We are seeking an experienced publican to take on this established site.”
