The headteacher of a Broadstairs school has been invited to deliver a keynote address at the national Aimhigher Awards Gala in London on Wednesday.
Andrew Olsson, head of The Charles Dickens School, pictured, will talk about how the Aimhigher initiative has encouraged students to meet and exceed their expectations and raise their aspirations.
Aimhigher is a government programme aimed at helping people into higher education. Activities supported by the scheme include visits to university campuses, residential summer schools, open days and mentoring schemes.
Mr Olsson said: "It is an honour to represent headteachers at these prestigious awards. Aimhigher is something that works very well at The Charles Dickens School and has made a real difference in the lives of many of our students."
