More than 100 properties were left without water after a burst main.
Southern Water engineers were sent to the Irvine Drive area of Margate at about 4.30pm.
A spokesman for the company said: "We received a small number of calls regarding a burst main in Irvine Drive at around 4.30pm today – since then we have isolated the affected water main and turned off the supply to prevent further water being lost and to protect properties against flooding."
As a result, 122 properties were without water.
Southern Water inspectors were sent and the firm arranged for bottled water to be delivered.
The spokesman said the priority had been to repair the pipe as soon as possible, adding: "We wish to apologise for the inconvenience caused but also thank the customers who reported the burst, allowing us to act quickly and save precious water."
