Ramsgate’s carnival is likely to be the only place you will see Elmo, King Neptune and a clown in the same location.
Scores of floats were dressed up to make this year’s celebration a real feast for the eyes.
Leaving from Government Acre at 4pm on Sunday, the parade made its way through the town, with hundreds lining the streets for the annual spectacle.

The procession was the centrepiece of a weekend of fun, with a dog show on Saturday from noon until 3pm.
On Sunday, a fairground took over the park with rides, entertainment, stalls and music.
Organiser Mick Pidduck said: “People are saying it was one of the best carnivals for a long time.
“I would just like to thank everybody who entered Ramsgate carnival this year – it was a great parade.
“Thank you for your support.”
