Christmas cheer in Cliftonville
14:52, 06 December 2012
Cliftonville will play host to dancers, singers, shoppers and Father Christmas for a special day of celebration.
This year’s Winter Community Event takes place on Saturday, December 8, from 10am, when Mayor Cllr Will Scobie and Mayoress Cllr Jodie Hibbert visit Northdown Road.
There will be a performance by Holy Trinity & St John’s Church of England Primary School choir and entertainment from the City of Canterbury Band and Thanet Concert Brass Band, along with street dancing and plenty of live music.
And young shoppers can visit Father Christmas in his grotto to tell him what’s on their list for the big day.
A colouring competition will encourage children to get creative and win a prize and there will also be raffle and a lucky dip.
Refreshments available include tea, coffee and mince pies in St Paul’s Church and mulled wine and a barbecue at The Belle Vue pub.
