Fire service tackle electricity substation fire at Westwood Business Park, Margate
14:30, 17 May 2016
Fire crews have contained an electricity substation fire at a business park after waiting for instruction from UK Power.
A call was made to the fire service at 1.18pm but crews were unable to tackle the blaze at Westwood Business Park in Margate until power was isolated.
Two pumps were used to fight the blaze and the situation was clear by 3.48pm.
The 100m safety cordon has now been lifted and both Enterprise Way and Strasbourg Street are back open.
All businesses within the cordon who were previously evacuated have been allowed back into their buildings.
