Coronation Street’s Kate Anthony has escaped the Street’s tram accident for the relative safety of Margate’s Winter Gardens, where she joined the cast for rehearsals of Cinderella.
With beautiful sets, a hilarious script, great music and a talented, lively young cast, the production -- which is on from Sunday December 19 to Thursday December 30 -- promises to be a most entertaining pantomime.
As Auntie Pam in Coronation Street, Kate successfully managed the wedding of Tyrone and Mollie but, as Baroness Hardup, she’ll have a tougher job getting her daughters, the Ugly Sisters, married off.
Coralie Hughes, who plays Cinderella, was thrilled to meet her Prince Charming – Hollyoaks’ Oliver Farnworth. Matt Hurst, Coralie’s real-life partner who plays Buttons in the show, was keeping a close watch to make sure that Oliver, didn’t live up to the reputation of his Hollyoaks character, bad boy Will Hackett.
Cinderella is being co-produced by The Panto Company, a major producer of pantomimes and holiday park entertainment throughout the country, headed by Whitstable-born Matt Lee-Alliston, and Reach Productions, run by Paul Mills and Rosita Yarboy, who have directed and choreographed pantomimes across the country with some of the biggest names in show business.
