Firefighters were called following a blaze at a substation that caused a power cut.
Smoke had been seen coming from the substation in Northdown Road in Cliftonville, Margate this afternoon.
Substations convert electricity to different voltages so that it can be used in people's homes, businesses and buildings.
One fire engine was sent to the scene after being called at around 12.45am.
By the time the crew arrived the fire had already been put out and no further action was required. No injuries were reported and duty of care was left with a site engineer at 1.20pm.
It’s believed the fire was caused accidentally due to a fault.
The fire interrupted power supplies at 12.43am and saw 308 people without electricity in the area for around an hour.
a UK Power Network spokeswoman told KentOnline: “Engineers from UK Power Networks worked quickly and safely to restore all supplies in stages by 1.45pm.
“We apologise to customers for the inconvenience caused.”
UK Power Networks have been approached for further information.
