Crews were called to a blaze in a Ramsgate coffee shop this morning.
Staff members at Fillers Coffee Bar in Elms Avenue arrived at 7.20am to see smoke escaping from the single-storey building.
A Fillers spokesman said: “The shutters wouldn’t go up when we tried to open and we noticed smoke coming out of the vents.
“It was part of our equipment that started the problem and it must have only started a few minutes before we got there to open luckily.
“It’s an inconvenience and there is smoke damage but the main thing is everything is okay. We are in the middle of clearing up.”
No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is being treated as accidental.
Two fire engines left the scene at 8.03am.
