STAFF at an animal rescue centre had a surprise when they were handed a biscuit tin.

The tin had been found in the car park of College Road vets, and as the lid was lifted, employees were stunned to find a little nose poking out.

TAG Pet Rescue was called and they are now looking for someone to home Boxer the rat.

Despite his ordeal, and being dumped and displaced is never easy for an animal, he has remained a friendly creature and is happy to sit and snooze.

Unlike their reputation, rats make good pets and are highly intelligent and responsive.
