A dad-of-two and former councillor who was the brother-in-law of Paul Hollywood has been killed in a plane crash in Spain during thick fog.
Pilot Simon Moores died yesterday after his light aircraft went down near Errezil in the north of the country.
The former Thanet district councillor died flying a Piper Arrow III from the Portuguese town of Cascais to San Sebastian after it crashed into Mount Hernio around 2pm.
A second British pilot killed in the tragedy has not yet been named.
Emergency services had to use ropes to climb almost 1,000 metres to the scene, where they recovered two bodies, The Sun reports.
Mr Moores ran a blog called thanetlife.co.uk on which he posted aerial shots of the east Kent coast.
The day before the crash, the 62-year-old tweeted a photo of the aircraft, writing "Looking good".
He also shared snaps from the plane yesterday, captioned "Mountains of mid Spain."
