Dead porpoise found on Westbrook Bay beach, Margate

A dead porpoise has been found washed up on Westbrook Bay beach.

It was spotted at about 7am and comes just weeks after a dead dolphin was found on the beach at Walmer.

The creature has been collected by Thanet District Council.

The cause of death is not yet known.

It will be handed over to the Natural History Museum so experts from the UK Cetacean Strandings Investigation Programme can conduct a post-mortem examination.
