A dog was rescued by firefighters while they tackled a bungalow blaze.
Three fire engines were called to Derwent Avenue just before 10pm yesterday.
Crews found the fire in the roof space of the two semi-detached bungalows.
They used breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets, a main jet and a positive ventilation fan to clear the smoke before leaving the scene.
