Driver, 23, dies after crashing into bus at Manston after police pursuit

A 23-year-old man has been killed after crashing into a bus while being followed by police.
Police this evening confirmed the driver of an Audi TT, which was involved in a crash this morning at Manston in Thanet, has died.
Officers are now appealing for information following the collision at 11.30am.
Five minutes before, the dark-coloured Audi TT car is reported to have failed to stop when requested to do so by police in Shottendane Road, Margate.
Following a short pursuit, this vehicle is then reported to have been involved in a collision with a bus in Spitfire Way at Manston at around 11.30am.
The car driver, a 23-year-old man from Margate, sustained fatal injuries.
He was confirmed dead at the scene.
It is not known how many people were on board the bus at the time, or if anyone else was injured.
As is standard procedure, the matter will be referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct.
The police vehicle did not make contact with either of the vehicles involved.
Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are now appealing for anyone who may have seen the vehicles on the road prior to the collision taking place.
