Fancy a night of rock 'n' Grohl?
11:00, 19 April 2012
If you fancy a night of rock’n’Grohl, check out the Westcoast in Margate on Friday April 20.
Two tribute acts to bands that drummer/guitarist/singer David Grohl graced with power and style are playing at the seaside venue, with support from Running With Scissors.
The show features Kent band The Fool Fighters (see right) and This Is Nirvana. Formed in late 2007, the Fools were inspired by the performances of the Foos at Live Earth and Hyde Park. The Fools figured that it would be fun to play this music and bring the Foo Fighters’ experience into local venues.
Rehearsals began in December 2007 with the Hyde Park DVD set list providing the template and the boys have been rocking ever since.
This Is Nirvana is one of the finest Nirvana tribute bands out there, with a strong facebook fanbase.
The band got together in April 2011 out of respect to Nirvana, and to keep their music alive in a live format.
Their aim is to give fans, many of whom never got the chance to see Nirvana live, the opportunity to be part of a Nirvana show.
Tickets are £1 on the door.
