Corn field fire in Plumstone Road in Birchington

Fire fighters were called to another field fire.
Crews battled a blaze the size of two football pitches in Plumstone Road, Acol, Birchington, at around 6.21pm.
A local farmer helped stop the flames spread to the next field which is the home to livestock.
The recent hot weather has caused problems for farmers who have seen a rise in the number of fires.
On Monday, 25 firefighter were called to a fire in Challock and a large plume of smoke was seen when another cornfield caught fire in Charig yesterday.
Firefighters left the field in Thanet at 7.16pm.
