Firefighters at scene of blaze at Quex Barn restaurant in Birchington, Thanet

Firefighters battled to stop a blaze spreading at a popular restaurant in Thanet.
Crews were called to the Quex Barn restaurant in Park Lane, Birchington just after 7am.
They sent five engines to the scene and wore breathing apparatus to put out the blaze, which was believed to have been caused by an electrical fault.

There were no reported injuries and the fire is not being treated as suspicious.

Police were called to the scene just after 7.30am.
