Fire crews were called to a high rise tower block after smoke was seen rising from the eighth and ninth floor.
They were called to the flats off Millmead Road in Margate shortly after 1.30pm today after receiving the call.
After an investigation it was revealed that the smoke was rising from the building’s rubbish chute.
Firefighters put out the fire then used a high pressure fan to clear the smoke from the building.
They left the scene shortly before 2pm, and there were no reported injuries.
