Fire crews were called after a fire in a two-storey building which was previously a restaurant.
Firefighters arrived at the derelict property just before 4.30pm yesterday and left about 20 minutes later.
The blaze in Belgrave Road, Margate, was on the first floor of the premises and the cause is not yet known.
Firefighters used a seven-metre ladder and hose reel jet to tackle it.
No one was thought to have been injured.
